The Most Fascinating Animal On Earth

Author's Note:This is my first free-form essay about my favorite animal, the polar bear.

Polar Bears, what do you think when I say those two words? Scary? Mean? Interesting?  Interesting isn't what most people think of polar bears.   Did you know polar bears overheat more than they freeze? Polar Bears are the most fascinating animals on Earth.

There’s so much more to polar bears than you think. They are very intelligent and complex animals. When the mother builds her den she doesn’t just stop at a single room, she will often add several rooms and even a ventilated roof! Polar bears are very intelligent but they can be quite vicious.

If something you've never seen before was approaching your child, for most people their first instinct is to protect the child. Or at least take some kind action. Polar bears choose to attack.  For polar bears it's just their instinct.  It’s not their fault they want to protect themselves or their young; it’s yours for making the dim-witted decision of approaching a polar bear.

The most interesting characteristic a polar bear is that their skin and tongue are dark blue. Their skin helps keep the polar bears extra warm, and their blue skin is like a heavy blanket under their fur. So polar bears can be nice and warm in the freezing temperatures of the arctic region. The blue on the tongue does the same thing; it keeps their tongue from freezing.  If their tongue freezes, that means they have frost bite which means possible losing their tongue which would limit a lot of the things they do everyday.  Like eating.

The most fascinating animal on Earth is the polar bear. I know this might be hard for you to hear but, polar bears are endangered animals and their habitat is melting, you should take action, everything counts. The polar bears are counting on you.
